KCST June 11th and 12th
The Kings County Studio Tour is coming up quickly – next weekend to be exact.  This is  the “Getting to know” post published for me What is your favourite time of day to work Are you an early bird or a night hawk? It has been said that an hour in the morning is worth two in the afternoon. I hear the crack of dawn and want to get up and at it. What would your dream project be? If there were no restrictions with time or money, what would you create? A series of large canvases with some in oils and some in acrylics. Time is my biggest challenge…

Plein Air Convention -Post #2
Home again home again Now that we have returned from our extended trip to Arizona, we have acclimatized from the four hour time difference, we are recovering from that dratted cold virus, and I have caught up with all the web site work for the upcoming Studio Tour (phew!), I can finally get back to my painting and blog posting. We fell in love with Arizona.  I mean how could you not, especially Tucson!  My husband and I stayed in this area for an additional four days after #PACE was over and did the tourist bit.  We really could have stayed in the area for a full week and never run out of…

Plein Air in Arizona
I have just returned from the Plein Air Conference and Expo (PACE 16)Â in Tucson Arizona! And what a wonderful experience it was. Â I will be creating a few posts on this experience I am sure. There was so much to do and to take in. Â I met up with a few friends there Jane Hagen Freeman and Marilyn Wear. Â Marilyn was a prize winner – was so exciting to be there to see her win! Â We attended many daily sessions for interest and to help us hone our plein air skills. Â I also met up with Poppy Balser from Nova Scotia! It was so hot there that my…

Cascading Blooms Watercolour Complete
Cascading Blooms a 1/2 sheet watercolour of pink climbing roses Procrastination I finally figured out why I have been procrastinating so much.  At least I think I have been.  And not sure I was even conscious of it until now.  Participating in the 30 paintings in 30 day challenge in January was very satisfying.  I mean I completed a painting a day for goodness sake. Felt accomplished every single day! Now that I am back to painting larger works – they seem to be taking forever.  I had a goal this weekend of finishing two.  Well, I only finished this one.  But, you know, you cannot hurry this type of…

Pretty Perfect Paint Prize Package
I am so completely excited! Â And a bit dim! Look at the wonderful prize package I just received. Giddy with glee I was very fortunate and won an award at the CSPWC Open Water Art Show in November. Â The prize was a gift certificate for Stevenson Paint – made right here in Canada. And what was so wonderful (other than receiving the award) was that I was able to select the type of paint and colours that I wanted. Â Oils. Â Acrylics. Â Watercolours. Â Smorgasbord! Delightful! Giddy with glee me! I have to admit that it took me awhile to decide what to order. Â So many choices and other artist materials as…
